How we handle your information
The CleverAlpha AI Advisor is an anonymous financial check-up. This notice explains exactly what we collect, when a name or email enters the picture, and how long we keep it. It supplements — and does not replace — CleverAlpha Asset Management's firm-wide Privacy Policy.
1. What we collect during the check-up
While you complete the 14-step check-up, we collect only the answers you provide — for example, age range, household income range, investment holdings, and financial goals. This information is stored under a random session ID.
We do not collect or store during the check-up:
- Your name
- Your email address
- Your phone number
- Your IP address (deliberately excluded from database writes)
- Precise geolocation
- Any financial account numbers or credentials
We record a truncated User-Agent string (what browser you used) and a timestamp, which help us diagnose issues and understand aggregate use.
2. What happens when you request the AI analysis
On the results page you can request an AI-generated analysis delivered by email. This is the only point at which a personal identifier — your email address — enters the system. Here is exactly what happens:
- Your email address is passed to our email vendor to deliver the analysis to your inbox.
- Your anonymized wizard answers (with any name/phone/email fields stripped) are sent to an AI provider to generate the analysis text. We use business API tiers, which do not train on customer data.
- The generated analysis is emailed to you and preserved by CleverAlpha as a books-and-records copy (see §4).
- The report link in the email carries your anonymized answers encoded in the URL. It does not carry your name, email, or phone. Treat the link as private to you — anyone with the link can view the analysis.

4. Books-and-records preservation
CleverAlpha Asset Management LLC is a fiduciary and an investment adviser registered with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission. Rule 204-2 under the Investment Advisers Act of 1940 requires us to preserve certain client and prospective-client communications for at least five years, with the first two years in an easily accessible location.
Because the AI analysis is a communication we send to a prospective client, we
preserve a copy — your email address, the analysis text, and a timestamp — in our
communications table for at least this retention period. This is a
regulatory obligation. It is not used for marketing.
5. Who we share with
We share information only with the service providers listed in §3, and only to the extent needed to deliver the service you requested. We do not sell your information. We do not share it for advertising. We do not allow it to be used to train third-party AI models.
We may disclose information when required by law — for example, in response to a subpoena, court order, or SEC examination.
6. Security
All traffic to and from the AI Advisor is encrypted in transit (TLS). Database writes use a server-side service key that is never exposed to the browser. Access to the underlying database is restricted; row-level security is enabled on all tables with no client-side access policies, meaning the anonymous public key cannot read or write these tables.
No system is perfectly secure. If you believe your information has been misused, contact us at support@cleveralpha.com.
7. Your choices
- Complete the check-up anonymously. You are never required to enter an email or phone number to get your scorecard.
- Request deletion. If you asked us to email you the AI analysis, you can request that we delete the associated record. Email support@cleveralpha.com from the address that received the analysis. Note that we may be required to retain the record for the SEC 5-year period even after deletion of other identifiers; in that case we will redact your email address and preserve only the minimum required.

Clear local data. The wizard saves your in-progress answers in
your browser (
localStorage). Clearing your browser data for this site removes them.
8. Children
The AI Advisor is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 18. If you believe we have, contact us and we will delete it.
9. Changes to this notice
We will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page when we change this notice. Material changes will be flagged on the AI Advisor homepage.
